Optimizing Outdoor Luxury: CG’s Hotel Project in Korea
A Floating Hotel, A Grounded Mission
When a Korean hotel owner set out to build a luxury hotel shaped like a cruise ship, CG Outdoor Furniture was brought in to complete the experience. Our mission was to furnish its outdoor spaces—from rooftop pools to private balconies and beach lounges—with pieces that combined custom design and reliable performance.
Where Comfort Meets Creativity
This wasn’t just another hotel. It was designed like a massive cruise liner perched on a cliff, overlooking the sea. Each level offered outdoor spaces for guests to relax, sunbathe, or dine. That meant the furniture had to work in many settings—all with different exposure to sunlight, wind, and moisture.
We delivered loungers, sofas, tables, and chairs for:
- The rooftop pool area, where loungers and umbrellas faced direct sun and salty air.
- Private room balconies, where compact sofas added comfort to ocean-view suites.
- The beach area, where daybeds needed to handle sand, humidity, and constant use.
Built for Performance, Styled for the Sea
Every item in this project was custom-made to fit the hotel’s bold theme. We used a mix of round and flat rattan weaving, combined with aluminum frames for strength and stability. Colors were inspired by ocean tones: soft white, deep navy, and sandy grey.
To ensure year-round use, we used:
- UV-resistant rattan and fabrics
- Waterproof, quick-dry cushions
- Mold- and mildew-resistant materials
- Powder-coated aluminum for rust protection
- Abrasion-resistant surfaces for high traffic zones
These materials don’t just look good—they last.

This collaboration showed what’s possible when bold architecture meets thoughtful furniture design. The result was more than functional—it was expressive. Guests felt like they were stepping onto a real cruise ship, and our furniture helped tell that story.
Working closely with the design team, we adjusted dimensions, finishes, and cushion types to ensure everything fit perfectly. Even years later, the pieces still perform beautifully.
