CARE & MAINTENANCE
Outdoor Furniture
To help you enjoy your CG Outdoor furniture for years to come, we’ve prepared this guide to proper care, maintenance, and cleaning. Whether it’s cushions, fabric, or solid teak wood, each material requires specific attention to preserve its quality and appearance in an outdoor environment.
1. Standard Cushions — Care & Cleaning
Our standard cushions are designed for outdoor comfort but still benefit from regular upkeep to stay fresh and durable.
— Routine Care: Store cushions in a dry, ventilated space when not in use, especially during rainy or extreme weather. Consider using rain covers or storage boxes.
— Cleaning Tips: For regular cleaning, use a soft brush or vacuum to remove dust and debris. For deeper cleaning, gently hand wash the fabric cover with mild soap and lukewarm water. Avoid bleach or strong detergents, as these can weaken the fabric fibers. Air dry completely before use.
— Important Note: Cushion covers are not designed for machine washing or tumble drying unless specifically stated on the label.
2. Sunbrella® Fabric Cushions
Sunbrella fabrics are known for their exceptional durability and fade resistance. However, like any outdoor fabric, they still require care.
— Routine Maintenance: Brush off loose dirt before it becomes embedded and rinse regularly with clean water.
— Spot Cleaning: Clean spills promptly using a solution of mild soap and water. Use a soft-bristle brush for gentle agitation, then rinse thoroughly and air dry.
— For Detailed Guidelines: Please refer to the official Sunbrella care instructions at www.sunbrella.com to ensure proper handling and to retain warranty coverage.
3. Teak Wood — Care & Preservation
Our teak furniture is made from high-quality, FSC-certified teak, known for its natural resistance to water and decay. Over time, teak will develop a beautiful silver-grey patina—this is a natural process and not a sign of damage.
—Routine Cleaning: Use a soft cloth or brush with mild soapy water to clean the surface. Rinse with clean water and allow to dry. Do not use harsh chemicals or pressure washers.
—For Natural Look: If you wish to preserve teak’s golden color, consider applying a teak protector or sealer once or twice a year. Avoid using teak oil, as it may encourage mildew.
—Storage & Protection: During the off-season or extended periods of non-use, we recommend covering your furniture with breathable rain covers or storing it in a sheltered area to minimize weathering and surface dirt.
